What Is New Media Marketing?
New Media Marketing is what I like to call “Rapport Marketing”. The whole premise behind New Media Marketing is to develop a sincere and transparent rapport with consumers. New Media Marketing is founded on the premise of encouraging those clients and consumers to provide transparent feedback regarding the quality of a product or service. This transparent feedback will enable the consumer to get a better product or service. New Media Marketing moves away from the traditional forms of marketing (e.g. television, radio, newspapers, and direct mail) where the consumer, in many cases, does not have an interactive experience with a product or service.
This interactive experience is key to developing a strong rapport with the consumer. Some of the new media technologies that help to develop this interactive experience are blogs, podcasts, webcasts, and social networks (i.e. MySpace, YouTube, FaceBook, etc.). Now that high-speed internet connections are more readily available there will continue to be more consumer decisions influenced by “Rapport” or New Media Marketing.
