JavaScript Taught Simply

One of my resolutions this year is to learn and master JavaScript.  My first step when trying to learn and master anything is to search for books and  websites that relate to my topic of interest.  During my recent research for a book and site on the topic of JavaScript I discovered a great book called “Simply JavaScript” and a great site called “Sitepoint“.  My favorite sort of books are the “read and do” type and my favorite sites are the ones with plenty of examples and tutorials.  I realize I have put off learning JavaScript for many years, because I didn’t realize its true benefit.  I am really excited about the capabilities this technology can provide me as I look to provide better user experiences and apps on the web for my clients.  Currently, I have a pretty strong foundation in CSS and XHTML.  With this foundation I believe that the next best step in my learning process should be to gain a solid understanding of JavaScript.  So let’s see how much of this language I can learn and master by year’s end.
